changeseachtimeyoupressthe button.
Intheon-linestatetheprinterreceivesdatafromthecomputerandprintsthe
data.In theoff-linestatethe printerstopsprintingand sendsthe computer
a signalindicatingthatit cannotacceptdata.
Theprinterpowersup in theon-linestateifpaperispresent.If paperis not
present,theprinterpowersup off-linewiththe
POWER indicatorflashing.
Whenyou load paperthe
POWER indicatorstopsflashing,but the printer
remainsoff-line.To startprintingyoumustpressthe(
ON LINE
)
button
go on-line.
Thethreemaintimeswhenyouwillwantto pressthe(
ON LINE
)button
are:
● Beforeand after any otherpaneloperation
Theotherpanelbuttonsoperateonlyin theoff-linestate.First pressthe

ON LINE ) buttonto go off-line,thenperformthe paneloperation,then

ON LINE ) buttonagainto go backon-line.
● To pauseduringprinting
If youpressthe

buttonduringprinting,theprinterstops
printingand goesoff-line,allowingyouto checkthe printoutor changea
controlpanel setting.Printingresumeswhen you press theC

buttonagainto go backon-line.
● To cut fanfoldformsat theend of printing
Whenusingfanfoldforms,if youholdtheC
ON
LINE )button downfor
onesecond,in additionto go off-linetheprinterfeedsthe paperabouttwo
inchesforward,allowingyouto cut it offjust belowthe last lineprinted.
Whenyoupressthe(
ON
LINE )button againtogobackon-line,thepaper
feeds backward about one inch, stoppingin the right place to resume
printing.
