ONL/NEbutton
The ON LINE buttonsetstheprinteron-lineandoff-line.Thestatuschanges
eachtime youpressthe button.
Whentheprinteris on-line,itcanreceiveandprintdatafromthecomputer.
Whentheprinterisoff-line,itstopsprintingandsendsthecomputerasignal
indicatingthat it cannotacceptdata.
Theprinterpowersup intheon-linestatusifpaperisloaded.Ifpaperisnot
loaded,the printerpowersup off-linewith the
POWERindicatorflashing.
Whenyouload paper,the
POWERindicatorstopsflashing,but the printer
remainsoff-line.TostartprintingyoumustpresstheONLINEbuttongoon-
line.
Youwillwantto pressthe ON
LINEbuttonare:
● Beforeandafteranyotherpaneloperation
The other panel buttons operate only in the off-line state. Press the
ON
LINE buttonto go off-line.Afterperformingthepaneloperation(s),
pressthe ON
LINE buttonagainto go backon-line.
● To pauseduringprinting
If youpresstheON
LINE buttonduringprinting,theprinterstopsprinting
andgoesoff-line,allowingyouto checktheprintoutorchangeacontrol
panelsetting.PrintingresumeswhenyoupresstheON
LINEbuttonagain
to go backon-line.
● To cut,fanfoldformsat the end of printing
Whenusingfanfoldforms,youcanholdtheON
LINE buttondownforone
second.In additionto goingoff-line,the printer also feeds the paper
forward approximatelytwo inches.This allows you to cut it off just
belowthe last lineprinted.
Whenyoupressthe ONLINEbuttonagainto go backon-line,thepaper
feedsbackwardstoppingwhereyouleftoff.
NOTE: This functionis validonlywhenthebufferis empty.
